Many cyclists stress the importance of riding 24/7 and interval training. While those things are important, so is a little R&R. I spent a weekend camping at the lake swimming, cat napping in the sun, stuffing my face, and a little riding. It was just what I needed to feel spunky again after a long build period.
Our camp spot was at Utica Reservoir near Bear Valley, CA. The views were breath taking, the water refreshing, and the rides in the area are amazing. In the future I'd like to explore some more rides near here -including Ebbetts Pass.

Post-ride picture with friends. We did a short recovery ride of 30 miles and about 3,500 ft of climbing.
